We don’t just share the same street, we share gardens, pathways, and a vision for living well together.

Our West Asheville neighborhood gives you access to permaculture gardens, beautiful amenities, and a tight-knit community—all just a few minutes drive to local schools, farmers markets, and cultural events.

Meet the Founders

HenryWood_011_.jpg

Jack and Kelsey met nearly 10 years ago at the West Asheville Farmers Market.

Drawn together by a love for the land and a vision of community, their partnership grew into a marriage, and eventually, the creation of Terra Futura.

With a Master’s degree in Sustainability Studies and a background in architecture, Kelsey brings a soulful eye for design.

Jack has years of rural development and community building experience with a Master’s degree in cross-cultural education and certifications in organizational development.

Together, they’ve built a home filled with teenagers, a new baby, and a shared mission to grow a thriving community.

Joyful, imperfect, and playful by design

We don’t pretend community is always easy. Disagreements happen—but here, we stay engaged. With humor, grace, and a willingness to grow alongside each other, we practice repair and keep showing up. That’s what makes this place real.

The perfect place to learn and grow together

We envision a community alive with regular, resident-led skill-sharing in the garden and common house—a community calendar peppered with health and wellness classes, permaculture farming, cooking, music making, trivia, and other practices that deepen connection and foster a sense of belonging.

It takes a village to raise a kid

Rooted & Wild

Here, kids grow up close to the earth—barefoot in the garden, laughing around fire circles, and learning from every generation.

Ecological Stewardship at Terra Futura

At Terra Futura, sustainability is a daily practice woven into the gardens, pathways, and shared spaces we tend together. Led by Kelsey and other experienced practitioners, our landscaping centers around native plants and permaculture gardening, with composting, water conservation, and food production integrated throughout. Rain gardens, swales, wetlands, and bio-retention ponds manage water naturally, creating green spaces that are both regenerative and welcoming—restoring balance while honoring living systems.
